Race to see the new window

We thought that we would give you a headstart!!  Here is the new window that has just gone in.  We hope that you like it.  Debbie has designed everything around "Race for Life" for Cancer Research UK - as this year, on Sunday 17th May, at Waddesdon Manor (Aylesbury)  we are joining in and we would love you to be part of it as well.

Clearly there is a bit of a pink theme to the window!!  On the first cake Debbie has used ribbon and some of her gorgeous and elegant flowers to represent remembrance for those lost to cancer.  On the second cake she has used the ever popular Katy Sue moulds, along with PME spray colours and some of our ready made clay figures to represent the race and the grounds of Waddesdon.  This cake is about the fun of participation.  The short video's on the Katy Sue website really show how easy it is to use these moulds and what great results can be obtained. Definitely worthwhile giving it a go to see for yourself.  On the third cake Debbie has made simple Cancer Research ribbons out of flower paste along with a bit of sparkle.  This cake is about the generosity of giving.

We hope that you will join us in some way in raising money for Cancer Research in May 2015.

Cancer Research UK

The world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research, Cancer Research UK is fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer to save more lives.  This charity is entirely funded by the public.  It would be great if you want to join us in our efforts to raise money around this special, local event - working together to ensure that more people beat cancer.

Take a look at this short video if you need any motivation to contribute in any way as we (staff and customers at Cornelli) look to do our bit - and have a whole load of fun at the same time!

Join us :
  • at No 2 Pound Street on Monday 11th May
  • donate a raffle prize by Saturday 9th May
  • raise awareness of work done by Cancer Research UK with your family and friends

Thank you for anything that you can do.  Debbie will be updating her Facebook page - so keep an eye out!
Race for Life

So, the actual race is taking place on Sunday 17th May 2015 in and around the beautiful grounds of Waddesdon Manor (Aylesbury).  It is a fantastic day for all who get involved.  It is a 5k (3 mile) stroll, walk, jog or run (whatever you want to do) in beautiful countryside, surrounded by loads and loads of wonderful women and their children (and "others" - sorry, no men allowed to participate, but they have a key role as supporters!)  Pink is obviously the colour of the day, with many people choosing to dress up in amazing costumes.  There is a group warm up to music followed by the race which is extremely well organised, and the reception that you get at the end by the crowds of well-wishers and supporters has to be seen to be believed.  Oh - and there is a goodie bag for all who get round the course!!

Join us:
  • sign up yourself for the race on the Cancer Research website - our group name is "Cornelli Sugarcraft" (group reference number XE2540) and join us on the day
  • donate on our "Just Giving" page
  • donate in the shop
  • buy a raffle ticket

Tea & Coffee Morning

On Monday 11th May, No 2 Pound Street have very kindly agreed to have Cancer Research UK (Cornelli Sugarcraft Specialist Race for Life team) as its chosen charity.  If you haven't been to one of these before, basically Nicola and the team from No 2 deli and wine shop donate monies from tea and coffee sales on the day to charity.  This is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise even more money - and one of the great ways that you can help out.  After all, having a drink (and possibly a bit of cake!!) is in our book the best way to make a contribution to any good cause!!

Staff from Cornelli will be at No 2 throughout to welcome you.  Debbie will be showing off her skills (mini demonstrations!!) and there will be goodies for you to buy.  We are hoping to run a raffle and it would be great if you have anything that you think may be suitable as a prize (those unwanted christmas and birthday presents!), if you can drop it off at the shop by Saturday 9th May.

We would really love to see you there on the day - it is for a great cause, a fantastic opportunity for us all to get together and should be a fun day.  Children are welcome.
