Hello! This is a post from me, Hels. For those of you who don't know me I run the ShopRoom at PlainStitch and generally look after our lovely customers and students for classes.
On
Friday I had a trip back to my home town, Birmingham, to attend an event
organised to promote Art Gallery Fabrics at the Custard Factory, an amazing venue. Hantex are the UK distributors for Art Gallery Fabrics and
organised this day event to bring together shop owners, bloggers and the media
to view all the different ranges of new and existing Art Gallery Fabrics,
including the new range of Art Gallery Knits and Voile's, which are just
delightful.
Pat
Bravo who is the Creative Director of Art Gallery Fabrics did a wonderful
presentation. Pat is so passionate about her work, she talked about her
collections and the inspiration behind, and of all the designers who are
involved with Art Gallery Fabrics. She also spoke about the need to welcome a
new generation of quilters and sewers, which we wholeheartedly embrace at PlainStitch, we do feel that we need
everyone to know how wonderful making something is!
We
have stocked Art Gallery Fabrics in the PlainStitch workroom since
it opened in March and the quality is amazing, they are perfect for quilting,
dressmaking and other crafty projects.
They were top of our shopping list as soon as we opened our ShopRoom doors. We've turned Leah Duncans Meadow range into fabulous pillowcases, amazing zingy summer EPP quilts and lampshades. Jeni Bakers Dreamin Vintage has flown out of the shop, lots of Purses and Granny bags being made up in this! Then Emmy Grace arrived this week to Beetles style screaming fans! Can't wait to see what you make with it!
At
the event there were some wonderful displays of quilts, cushions, clothing all
made with Art Gallery Fabrics, there were demonstrations from Pat Bravo and I had a good look at all the different collections coming up and came away bursting with ideas of what could be made with all these fabulous
fabrics! Can't wait for the autumn!

event.
